Are you interested in science policy and news, but don’t want to get bogged down in all the details?  If so, sign up for the bi-weekly newsletter from ASA-CSSA-SSSA, a joint effort by the American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, and the Soil Science Society of America.  In five minutes you’ll be able to catch up on science policy and science news, right from your inbox.  If a particular story catches your eye, simply click the link to move on from the two- or three- sentence summary to the full original article.  You’ll find information about projects at the USDA, the Farm Bill and other government funding news, upcoming science conferences, and opinion pieces on various topics like the Green New Deal.

If, on the other hand, you want to delve into the nitty-gritty details, check out the Congress.gov website where you can search the legislation for plant- and agricultural-related topics.  For instance, a Bill introduced last year to promote more basic botanical research in the US. Another Bill introduced this year aims to protect. Simply enter a term in the search box and enjoy some light reading!
