Dr. Ye Xia received her B.S. and M.S. degrees while studying plant protection and pathology in China. She received her PhD in Plant Pathology from the University of Kentucky in 2010. Dr. Xia served as a postdoc at the University of Kentucky until 2015 when she joined the Department of Plant Pathology at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Xia’s research focuses on the biochemical, genetic and molecular mechanisms, as well as the applications of plant disease resistance and beneficial plant-microbe/microbiome interactions to improve plant health and yield. The two main areas where Dr. Xia’s research is focused includes plant surface mediated plant immunity against diverse pathogens, and mechanisms and improvement of plant immunity and yield by beneficial microbes from the phytobiome.
