Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Education

  • PhD, Evolution, Indiana University, Indiana USA (2005)
  • AB, Biology (Ecology and Evolution), University of Chicago, Illinois USA (1998)

Dr. Bennett's research focuses on two research areas: the influence of microbes (predominately mutualistic fungi) on plant defense and interactions with other organisms (such as herbivores and pollinators), and evolution within plant-associated microbiomes. Dr. Bennett's group applies techniques from a wide variety of disciplines (evolutionary ecology, molecular biology, and physics) to address questions in these research areas.
